5 of the most Haunted places in Chennai

 Chennai is a modern and fast-growing city but still is the home for some of the scariest places that might haunt even the non-believers. Here are 5 of the most haunted ones.

De Monte Colony

It is situated off the busy St. Mary’s Road and comprises of two lanes lined by trees and crumbling houses alongside. The haunting incidents of the past like the stories of missing night guards and pets has left the residents abandoned. It is said that the spirits of a resident named John De Monte and his family haunt the colony after their death due to their unhappy life.

Blue Cross Road

Blue Cross Road is also one of the haunted places since it witnessed huge number of suicides and the spirits are believed to be haunting the place. The place has dense covering of trees and people have reported sightings of spirits, so it is not advised here to walk or drive in the night.

Karikattu Kuppam

Another haunted place in Chennai, Karikattu Kuppam is believed to be haunted after the damaging effects of 2004 Tsunami which left this place with deaths and destructions. Many people were left homeless while some died which makes this place look haunted with abandoned houses and deserted buildings. The spirits of the people who died in the disaster are believed to be haunting the place.

Madras Christian College

This is one of the interesting haunted places in Chennai because of the story behind it. A guy committed suicide after getting rejected for a proposal to a girl and after that his ghost is witnessed walking the corridors of the Madras Christian College. Students have noticed the rattle of furniture on its own, strange laughs and automatic opening of taps there.

Broken Bridge

A bridge over Adyar river which has some broken parts and cannot be travelled through. It collapsed due to strong water currents and since has not been repaired. The leading road to the bridge is also poorly lit which adds to the fear at night. The story behind it is of a woman who cries loudly and roams around the bridge. She was said to be murdered near the bridge.
